Whenever I give a lecture about Alzheimer's disease, I can't help but pause when I find myself saying "some caregivers find themselves overwhelmed." The more I work in this field, the more I realized I should be saying "virtually all caregivers find themselves overwhelmed." In that spirit, I wanted to devote this newsletter to helping the vast number of caregivers who find themselves struggling to cope with the demands and stresses of caring for someone with dementia.
In addition to learning as much about dementia as you can, take an active role in your loved one's health care. Form an alliance with a physician and other professionals experienced in issues related to Alzheimer's disease. Read more

With almost any change we make to improve our diets, many of us bump up against the fact that it usually requires more food preparation.
