From Marcia Purse, your Guide to Bipolar Disorder
I love Thanksgiving. I love the food and the togetherness. (Although the one year I hosted it, I didn't love it at all, but I won't do that again anytime soon - I'm just NOT a cook, let alone a cook who can get all the food done at the same time.) On the other hand, the approach of Christmas is one of my least favorite times of the year. For me, it's the stress of buying good gifts for people who don't make wish lists!

What Are You Thankful For?
I'm thankful for my bipolar disorder diagnosis. It meant I got on the right types of medications, and explained a lot about what I had gone through all the years before, as well as what I am still struggling with. There's more on my "thankful" list - what's on yours?

Holiday Meals - What Are Your Stress Strategies?
Meals with family for holidays and other occasions can be very stressful for someone who has bipolar disorder, whether you are hosting the family dinner or going to a relative's or friend's house. Share the successful strategies you have found that help you prepare for a family get-together, and tell how well and why they work, or read and learn from others' ideas.

How Not to Bankrupt Yourself Buying Gifts
Readers share the ways they've learned to keep from spending beyond their means. This is a special temptation to avoid as the holidays of Hannukah, Christmas and Kwanzaa approach. Besides remembering that you don't want to send diabetic Great-Aunt Mabel a $50 basket of chocolates, here are some reader tips for controlling spending at holidays or anytime.
