Talking About Sex

Sexual Health

From Cory Silverberg, your Guide to Sexuality
The press release last week announcing that Montana Fishburne, daughter of the actor Laurence Fishburne, will be starring in her first porn film is like a late summer gift to a shallow and hypocritical media trolling for something to report that requires no analysis or thought but will grab readers attention. It presented me with a dilemma. For many reasons (follow the link) I actually think we shouldn't be talking about this at all. But it does present us with opportunities to think about sex, money, power, and race in ways that will hopefully challenge the way we usually think of these things. Which doesn't make it right, but it does compel me to talk about it. See what you think. ~ Cory

Montana Fishburne: Why Is
There's an assumption among most people who don't work in the porn industry that everyone who does must be screwed up (that is, screwed up worse than those of us who don't, which let's face it, is a high bar to hit). It follows that those who make porn do so out of necessity, that in fact the choice to make porn is no choice at all. So what happens when someone who appears to have plenty of social and financial capital intentionally enters the porn fray?

FDA Seizes Penis Extenders
Thanks to papers like The Onion, and TV shows like The Daily Show, I find myself needing to say that this headline isn't a joke. If you or someone you love lives in the US and has a penis, it's worth the three minutes to read.

Quotes on Pornography
"If looking at porn makes you kill people, then Joe Matt should be the biggest serial killer ever. Bundy may have believed that porn made him a murderer, but the experience of millions of peaceful non-murdering porn-consumers around the world proves him wrong."
~Chester Brown

Are Drugs Affecting Your Orgasms?
Drugs of all kinds may have an impact on your ability to orgasm and the way orgasms feel. They can do this directly by altering something in you or indirectly be impacting your mood or ability to concentrate or even stay awake (it's hard to orgasm when you're asleep). Learn more about how drugs can affect your experience of orgasm.
