Acne, or acne vulgaris, is a skin problem that starts when oil and dead skin cells clog up your pores. Some people call it blackheads, blemishes, whiteheads, pimples, or zits. Minocycline has been associated with pigment deposition in the skin, mucous membranes and teeth particularly among patients receiving long-term therapy and/or higher doses of the medication. Pigmentation occurs most often in acne scars, anterior shins, and mucous membranes.
