Mild Form Of Acne Posted By: Shawn Everette
Acne, or acne vulgaris, is a skin problem that starts when oil and dead skin cells clog up your pores. Some people call it blackheads, blemishes, whiteheads, pimples, or zits. As these are the pores that are the most susceptible to testosterone, they mature first. The acne process destroys the susceptible pores, and, as other pores mature on the cheek and jaw line, these pores that are genetically defective become impacted and are then destroyed. Oil secretions are said to build up beneath the blocked pore, providing a perfect environment for the skin bacteria propioni bacterium acnes and the lipophilic (oil/lipid-loving) yeast malasezzia to multiply uncontrollably. Under the microscope, however, there is no evidence of pooled trapped sebum.Dry skin, lips and eyes are common. Raised serum lipids occur in a third of patients. Notice a generalized s welling of the skin throughout the jaw and cheek areas. Minocycline has been associated with pigment deposition in the skin, mucous membranes and teeth particularly among patients receiving long-term therapy and/or higher doses of the medication. Pigmentation occurs most often in acne scars, anterior shins, and mucous membranes.
