Social stereotypes and expectations tell us that men always want sex, women rarely do, and being too tired for sex is just code for being not being that into you. But since we're humans, not stereotypes, it's a bit more complicated for us. This week's newsletter is all about a particular kind of being too tired for sex. It's not the kind of tired that goes away after a good nights sleep. It's the kind that many of us live with day in and day out. But not having sex for a few weeks or months can create a vicious cycle, and before you know it you can be not only too tired to have sex, but too tired to even think about sex. We develop it anyway, although that development may be stunted somewhat by the sexual messages we get from the world around us. How exactly can you have sex when you are so tired that moving around any more than necessary feels impossible?
