What is the Most Annoying Thing About Having GERD?
Having GERD can be extremely annoying at times. I know. I've had it for over 20 years. There are aspects of it that can be more annoying than other times. For example, take the following experience:
Going it alone - "The most difficult part is being the only person in my family that has GERD, and I do eat healthfully. It's difficult at family get togethers as the food is typically stuff I can't eat (e.g. tomatoes, olives and olive oil -- and I'm Italian!)

  • How Do You Deal With Nighttime Heartburn?
Nearly eight in 10 heartburn sufferers experience symptoms at night. But staying up all night to fend off heartburn isn't practical. There has to be a solution. Here's how one reader does it:
Milk - "Drinking cold skimmed milk before bed helped me. It often stopped the burning sensation...But for prevention, your best friend is: Eat light and hours before bed time."

  • What Are Your Top Heartburn Causers?
For some people, food is their top cause of heartburn. For others, exercise or going to bed too soon after eating causes the most heartburn for them. For example, for one person, it's fruit:
"I have a horrible problem with fruit. I love it, but it always makes me sick when I eat it."
