From Marcia Purse, your Guide to Bipolar Disorder
I was surprised when Mel Gibson became a star. The reason, in hindsight, is embarrassing: I didn't think anybody would get excited about someone whose name seemed to come from "Melvin." What can I say? Certain names become "funny" names in different times (and I've certainly heard "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" more than enough times in my life!). Anyway, Gibson has proved his worth as an actor. The jury is still out on other issues, though.

Are Mel Gibson's Rants From Bipolar Disorder?
Mel Gibson is back in the news. His 2006 anti-Semitic rant generated a lot of headlines, and now, reportedly, a video made by his ex-girlfriend shows abusive, threatening and bigoted behavior. At the same time, people are putting Gibson on lists of people with bipolar disorder. Where's the evidence?

A Heartfelt Question
"When do your family members recognize that you are a person before you are bipolar, and that things you did normally before are [still] normal afterward? Why do they forget how you were before you got on your meds?" Can you offer this woman any advice or encouragement? Or are you having the same difficulties?

Proposed Law Could Save $$ on Your Medications
The House of Representatives has passed a bill that would help prevent drug companies from paying the makers of generic drugs to hold off marketing the generics. What would this mean to you?

Celebrities Rumored With Bipolar Disorder
The internet is littered with lists of celebrities who supposedly have bipolar disorder, but these are often inaccurate. Perhaps this due to rumors surrounding a celebrity's suspicious behavior and perhaps at times it is proliferated misinformation. Here we have addressed some of these rumors.
