From Marcia Purse, your Guide to Bipolar Disorder
Over the last months, About Bipolar Disorder readers have contributed their own perspectives on many important issues. This week I'm highlighting some of these submissions, and in the future I'll feature at least one every week. After all, who knows better than we do what it's like to live with bipolar?

Coping With Depression: Setting Up Future Patterns
Sandy writes about how she gets herself going during depression, and what the process does for her: "Sometimes I encourage myself to put two pieces of laundry away. Or put three books away. When I am in depression, my house is the first to go also. It's disheartening to be in such clutter, so even starting something helps. Read more of Sandy's methods.

Helping Others Helps Me Get Started
Duchessammi writes: "I try to drag myself out of bed, and get on my computer and go on to depression forums or chat rooms. That usually gets my mind going at least. Also making sure to take my medications - that is a major one, because when you're that down you just don't feel like it." Read more of Duchessammi's thoughts.

Controlling Bipolar Spending: Ask for Help
Joelle says: "I bought tons of food and clothes. I had an endless entertainment budget. I bought gifts and cards with money I really did not have. I had, several years ago, racked up the credit card debt that took me well over the edge which my parents chose to bail me out of so I did not have to file bankruptcy. Now I have almost no debt. All my bills are paid in full monthly. I have a very strict budget and plan that I maintain with my rep payee." See the rest of Joelle's methods.

Racing Thoughts: Spontaneous or Triggered?
This question came from a reader of About Bipolar Disorder on Facebook: "Can racing thoughts be triggered? Or do they just happen out of the blue usually? I seem to be able to trigger my racing thoughts sometimes." My own experience suggests that triggering is possible, but I've never encountered much on the subject in my reading. What's your experience? Leave a comment about your racing thoughts experiences.
