From Marcia Purse, your Guide to Bipolar Disorder
I don't really pay attention to modern pop music, but I've looked at some videos of Amy Winehouse since her death a few days ago. Her music doesn't appeal to me, but the video of her drunk onstage at a concert last month was too painful to watch all the way through. As I researched her life, I kept wondering if there had been any way to stop her screeching descent toward disaster.

Amy Winehouse and Untreated Manic Depression
Although the cause of Amy Winehouse's death on Saturday still isn't known, it's fair to say her out-of-control life was teetering on the edge for a long time. Did her untreated bipolar disorder contribute to her problems with alcohol and drug abuse?

Self-Medicating With Drugs and Alcohol

Robert Downey, Jr. - Poster Child for Self-Medication
Actor Robert Downey, Jr. has punctuated a career filled with talent and promise with arrests, imprisonments and time spent in drug rehabilitation. Though there were reports in 2000 that he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, in 2007 he publicly denied this. The truth is yet to be known.

New Caution Added to Seroquel Label
