Bleh. That's the general feeling about exercise this time of year when the heat of August converges with the onset of back-to-school mania, leaving everyone cranky, tired and, as my grandma says, rode hard and put up wet.

Before you completely give up exercise, now is a good time to take a step back and assess what's going on. What does your body really need right now? (And, no, 'beer' isn't the correct answer, despite what my husband says) Do you need more movement? Or less? Is it time for a change in the tired routine?

We all need to regroup now and then, so think about where you are, where you want to be and how you can get there. Then maybe you can go have that beer. Stay cool out there!
