From Elizabeth Woolley, your Guide to Type 2 Diabetes
My dog died this past weekend. She was 17 and had a natural ability to sense when I was going to have a low blood sugar episode or hypoglycemia. As I was reflecting on my life with her, it made me realize that we often can get support and stress relief from unlikely sources.

Cisco's Story
Going through some of my mementos after the death of my dog, I came across a story I wrote about how she saved my life and the life of my son when I was pregnant with diabetes. I thought I would share our story with you.

Share Stories and PIcs of a Pet That Has Helped You
My dog provided me with stress relief and wordless support. I know you must have a story to share of an animal who has made a difference in your type 2 diabetes life. Please follow the link above and share your story with us.

Emotional Support for Diabetes
Finding out that you have diabetes can feel life altering. After the initial diagnosis, there is a large amount of information that is given to you in a short amount of time. It can really seem overwhelming at times. If you are feeling down, seek out sources of emotional support.

Talking to a Partner or Spouse
There's no doubt about it -- a diabetes diagnosis affects a person's life. It raises many questions: What does it mean? What do I have to do? What will happen to me? What sometimes gets overlooked in all this questioning is that the person diagnosed is not the only one affected by the disease. The partner or spouse of the person with diabetes will be asking many of the same questions.
