From Marcia Purse, your Guide to Bipolar Disorder
This week I have some stories that made me feel good, and I hope they lift your spirits, too.

Sanctuary House Story Is Heartwarming!
This might be the most wonderful story I've ever read regarding mental illness. Sanctuary House in Greensboro, NC, runs a bakery where the employees are people who have bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and depression. Untrained when they start, the new bakers learn skills that may lead to solid full-time jobs.

Not Guilty By Reason of Bipolar Disorder
Yes, there are times when bipolar disorder is a valid defense against criminal charges, and this is one of them. And even the prosecutors appear to be satisfied with the not guilty verdict.

On the Other Hand - She WAS Guilty
Mary Kay Letourneau, who not only had sexual relations with one of her students but bore his children and eventually, years later, married him, should have - and did - know better.

Recognize Yourself?
Do you wonder if you have bipolar disorder? Have you been diagnosed with depression but don't feel like that covers all your symptoms? And those of you who are diagnosed will find out by reading these stories how not alone you are.
