From Paige Waehner, your Guide to Exercise

One of the most depressing things about weight loss is this: You can't choose where you lose the weight. Yes, you can focus every ounce of your will on those love handles or saddlebags, but your body has no interest in your wants and needs. It's job? To follow the directions radioed in from your DNA (among other things), telling it what to keep and what to get rid of.

In fact, it's entirely possible your body will remove fat from areas you care nothing about (your wrists, for example) leaving the worst parts there.

This may seem depressing at first, but once you realize your body is in charge, you can actually relax into your program and focus on what you can control - Moving more, eating well and taking care of yourself.'s a beautiful thing.
